DHM 3303: MATERIALS AND FINISHES

Course Description

An overview and examination of interior materials and finishes. Develop an understanding of:
Structures, materials and methods important to the design of the interior environment; The relationship of building design, product and material specification and the regulatory requirements (codes and laws) pertinent to the interior environment; Sustainability of materials from sourcing, processing, use/reuse and disposal; Performance standards relative to material specification; and Installation standards and methods. Develop the skills and vocabulary necessary to communicate professionally. Develop the ability to calculate amounts of interior finish materials.
