Upon successful completion of DHM 3033, the student will be able to: Recognize the significance of material culture and other social sciences in the shaping of the built environment and the significance of people’s interaction with it. Demonstrate an understanding of the theories and products of the major theoretical movements and their adherents. Evaluate the effectiveness of objects and spaces relative to the needs of the users for whom they were designed. Perform independent research (literature review) and communicate both verbally and visually the results of research, utilizing the vocabulary developed by scholars in the design disciplines and social sciences.
